Francesca Rudden is a Counseling Intern at Hidden Stream Counseling. Originally from the Northeastern US, she now lives in Raleigh and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University. Francesca is working under the supervision of Tanya St. Julien-Denson, MA, LCMHC-S, NCC. Francesca has a background in technology and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, and a graduate student member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Francesca works with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, coping skills, and life transitions. With a background in corporate settings, she is passionate about helping working professionals with the challenges of balancing professional and personal life, and she is also dedicated to working with parents in navigating the landscape of parenthood, both good and challenging. As a mother, Francesca is here to help parents of all gender roles and identities weather the challenges that come with parenthood.
Additionally, Francesca works with parents experiencing fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mood disorders or stressors. She recognizes that these issues affect not only mothers or birth parents, but also their partners.
Francesca’s counseling approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Reality Therapy, among others. Francesca is a strong believer in taking a client centered approach to therapy, allowing the client to be the expert in their own lives.
Having overcome many life challenges herself, Francesca is committed to creating a safe and empathetic space for clients to explore personal challenges, depression, anxiety, and stress. Her goal in becoming a counselor is to help people discover the greatness that already exists inside of them.
