Madison Alicardi is a Counseling Intern at Hidden Stream Counseling and a graduate student at Montreat College. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She completed her undergraduate studies at Western Carolina University, majoring in Marketing and Business Management. Her academic and personal experiences have shaped her analytical skills and compassionate, empathetic approach to supporting others.
Madison takes a client-centered, strengths-based, and integrative approach to counseling. She draws from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Imago Therapy for couples, and somatic and mind-body techniques. These modalities support clients in finding balance, building self-awareness, and creating meaningful change. She is especially passionate about helping individuals navigate ADHD, identity development, anxiety, and life transitions in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space.
Madison’s dedication to professional development is evident through her active membership in the American Mental Health Counselors Association and her role as a keynote speaker for North Carolina State University’s Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Program, Elevate, on the importance of Mental Health and Careers in the mental health field.
She is particularly dedicated to working with adolescents and young adults, and couples, especially those who are neurodivergent or part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Inspired by her own lived experience with ADHD and as a queer-identifying woman, Madison is committed to providing affirming, inclusive care that honors each person’s unique strengths and identity. She believes in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them with warmth, authenticity, and respect.
Outside her academic and professional work, Madison enjoys spending time traveling, attending concerts, and having some quality time with friends and family. She is passionate about helping clients grow in self-understanding, confidence, and overall well-being.
