Sabrina Wheaton is a Counseling Intern at Hidden Stream Counseling. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, and is working under the supervision of Tanya St. Julien Denson, MA, LCMHC-S, NCC. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and over twenty years of experience supporting individuals and families through some of their most vulnerable moments.
Through her extensive background in nursing, Sabrina has developed a calm presence, intuitive listening skills, and an ability to connect deeply with others. Her transition into counseling is rooted in her belief in the power of healing, personal growth, and meaningful human connection.
Sabrina’s clinical focus includes trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and the emotional impact of navigating demanding life challenges. She practices from a person-centered, strengths-based, and integrative framework, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and somatic practices that emphasize the mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, and embodied healing. Sabrina values meeting clients exactly where they are, creating a supportive and nonjudgemental space where individuals feel seen, safe, and empowered to explore meaningful change at their own pace.
As someone who has walked through deep personal growth and healing, Sabrina brings a compassionate, grounded, and authentic lens to her work. She believes in the power of resilience and self-awareness and strives to work in partnership with her clients as they reconnect with their inner strength and rewrite the former narratives that no longer serve them.
